Research Associate

Job Profile

The candidate will be working in a challenging environment and should be a self-starter who can work independently with minimum supervision. The profile will include:
(i) Analysis of
a. Use/deployment of various types of conventional (coal, gas, nuclear, hydro) generation sources and renewable (solar, wind, bio-mass, small hydro, etc.);
b. Issues along the entire supply chain of conventional fuels
(ii) Identification of key drivers for demand in various end use segments ¿ industrial, agricultural, commercial, domestic, etc. for giving inputs to economic models for long-term (15-30 years) projection of demand for electricity, options to meet the projected demand
(iii) Meeting projected demand from various types of generation sources
(iv) Understanding the nature of global energy markets, etc.


¿ A masters¿ degree in energy, engineering (mechanical/electrical), economics or a relevant discipline. Statistical economics or financial qualification and expertise will be preferred


¿ Experience & knowledge of regulatory framework in conventional fuel (power, oil and natural gas ) for extracting information to be used in economic models for demand forecast
¿ MS Word, Excel, Power Point skills (statistical/financial modelling tools)
