ABOUT NCSC

The National Children’s Science Congress (NCSC) is a flagship programme of the National Council for Science and Technology Communication (NCSTC), functioning under the Department of Science and Technology, Government of India.

It is a nationwide science communication and education initiative aimed at promoting scientific temper among children and encouraging them to engage in hands-on research and innovation.

The core objective is to:

• Provide a platform for children (10–17 years) to demonstrate creativity and innovation
• Encourage them to identify local problems and solve them using scientific methods

Specific Objectives include:

1. Develop scientific temper
   • Promote observation, experimentation, and logical reasoning
2. Encourage problem-solving
   • Focus on local societal and environmental issues
3. Promote learning by doing
   • Projects involve fieldwork, surveys, and experimentation
4. Link science with daily life
   • Help children relate science to their surroundings
5. Inclusivity
   • Open to both school-going and out-of-school children, including differently-abled participants
