Introduction
The National Children’s Science Congress (NCSC) is a flagship programme of the
National Council for Science and Technology Communication (NCSTC), functioning under the
Department of Science and Technology, Government of India.
It is a nationwide science communication and education initiative aimed at promoting
scientific temper among children and encouraging them to engage in hands-on research and innovation.
Background and Evolution
- The programme originated at the grassroots level in Madhya Pradesh through efforts of science organizations and was later expanded nationally by NCSTC.
- It has been conducted since 1993 as part of NCSTC’s science popularisation programmes.
- It is now one of the largest science outreach programmes for school students in India.
